Al -baleed is an archeological ancient city in Salalah in hafa lying on the coast of Arabian sea.
It was originated in Al-Habuthiah empire in the 13th century, and it is mentioned in historical records
that the king named Ahmed bin mohammed al –habuthibuilt al -baleed in year 1221 .
It was considered ahmedia to the people back then . It was a hub for tradeand cultural heritage.
Later on the ancient houses and pillars where discovered and excavation continues till this day .
And in the past decades the Ministry of culture and heritage turned it into archeological park first of its kind in Sultanate of Oman and established a museum of frankincense land .
